Alex Easton was born in Belfast on the 19th May 1969, at the age of three his family moved to Blackburn England. The family then returned to live in Bangor; were he attended Kilmaine Primary School Bangor; he then attended Gransha Boys High School, Bangor 1980 - 1985 and then finally Bangor Technical College 1985 - 1987. He then went to work in a carpet factory for two years before joining the Health Service in 1989 were he worked in the Accident and Emergency department of Ards hospital and was then promoted to a Higher Clerical Officer and went to work in the Medical Records Department of the Ulster Hospital were he worked on issues such as Surgical appliances and Medical Legal issues. He has a brother who is a Church of Ireland Minister in Coleraine and a sister who is a nurse in Lagan Valley Hospital. He is also n enthusiastic member of the Orange Order in Bangor District. Alex joined the DUP in March of 2001 because he opposed the Belfast Agreement and was elected to in the local government elections of 2001 and was the first DUP Councillor in the North Down Area of Ballyholme & Groomsport for eight years. He was also elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in November of 2003 and received 3570 votes and was re elected to his Council area again in May of 2005 with 1460 votes he was again re elected to the NI Assembly in 2007 and topped the poll with 4906 votes. Alex sits on the following committees at North Down Borough Council, Corporate Committee, Planning Committee, Amenities Committee, CCTV Committee and Full Council, he is also on the Health Committee and Standards & Privileges committee in the NI Assembly and he is also a member of the North Down District Policing Partnership and is currently the chairman. Alex is married and lives in Bangor and has worked hard on issues such as funding for community groups, improvement to those living in Housing Executive areas and has fought hard for Groomsport, Conlig primary school and Donaghadee High School to keep them open. Alex likes to read, walk, and enjoys jogging and is a member of the Church of Ireland.
