DUP Councillor Alex Easton MLA today called on the DRD to looking into the state and condition of Spencer Street, Downshire Road, Trevor Street and Park Drive in Holywood.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am deeply concerned at various aspects on the condition and safety of some these street, having been in the area on Wednesday I was aware at the huge volume of traffic on Spencer Street and Downshire Road in particular, I believe that the DRD need to look at the volume and narrowness of these street to see what can be done to help maintain the traffic flow in a safer manor and to create a safer environment for residents to park and live in. I believe some sort of action plan by DRD is needed to urgently evaluate the dangers that are being done by the huge volume of traffic.”

“I was also aware of the condition of the roads and footpaths at Spencer Street, Downshire Road, Trevor Street and Park Drive and in Particular the broken and uneven slabs on Trevor Street. I would call on DRD to look at the condition of the roads and footpaths which are heavily patched with a view to considering resurfaceing all these roads and footpaths.”

“It also came to my notice at the high volume off dog fouling and I will be calling on North Down Borough Council to clean the footpaths and for the erection of NO Dog Fouling Signs in the area.”
