Councillor Alex Easton - SPOD
DUP Councillor Alex Easton MLA today welcomed the announcement by the DSD Minister, that there will be a continuation of SPOD funding of £415,000 for the next financial year for seventeen areas across Northern Ireland which will include Rathgill Estate and the YMCA in the Harbour area of Bangor.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This is great news and a belated Christmas present for Rathgill Estate and the YMCA for their excellent community work. I have been raising the issue at the NI Assembly for the continuation of the SPOD funding in Rathgill Estate and Bangor YMCA, both at the DSD Committee and through writing to the DSD Minister to stress the importance on continuing SPOD funding.”
“This continuation of SPOD funding for Rathgill and Bangor YMCA will allow the good community work to be continued and carried out within the Rathgill area, and to also allow for the first class projects and vital services that the YMCA also offer to the Harbour area under SPOD funding to continue.”
“I would thank the DSD Minister for this continuation of SPOD funding and believe this will be money well spent for the betterment of Rathgill Estate and the Harbour area.”
